The perfect night. I had a nice cup of tea and cookies, some warm slippers and the night to myself. I strolled out of the kitchen with my tea and cookies and sat in my nice lazy boy recliner, Oh it was heaven. I had been sitting for about 20 minutes when the most peculiar sound rung out into the air and it sounded a lot like a cat howl. Then it didn't cross my mind but know that I know the truth I don't how I could have been so blind. About another 20 minutes had passed when the noise accord again even louder and I could distinctly hear this cat howl. I sat up in my chair and looked around. nothing so I went back to watching the telly. After about an hour of nothing good to watch i turned the t.v off and headed to bed.
The next morning I went through my usual routine and headed of to work. It was about 10 pm when I arrived home. I got out of my car and put my key in the lock when I heard scratching on my door from the inside. Listening very closely and being as quiet as death i turned the key and threw the door open. Again, nothing. I have never been more confused when i heard a meow in my dinning room. My feet instantly flew into a sprint, i bolted down the hall around the corner and then I hit the floor. Rubbing my sore arm i looked around to see what i could of tripped on and I turned pale white.
There in the center of my carpet was a giant mound, a bulge a size of a tire. I scrambled back into a corner of the wall, trying to get as far away as possible. The mound inched forward. I let a shriek of complete terror escape my lips as I mustered enough strength to get on my feet and sprint out of the room.
I lay shaking under my bed covers like a child afraid of the dark. Multiply things were whizzing threw my head of a reasonable explanation. It had to be something understandable, a rat or maybe it was an air pocket. But how could have a rat or an air pocket be the size of a tire and how could it had taken down a 6’6” 274 pound grown man.
I had spent the whole night terrified to sleep yet I didn't feel that tired. I cautiously got out of bed, observing the floor before I put my feet down. Slowly I went through the entire house checking, each and ever room to find this mysterious bump, especially the dining room. But like always I found nothing.
My head spinning, I sat in my lazy boy, thinking of where this bump could be. It couldn't have vanished, no, that's not possible. Maybe it is. Maybe I was hallucinating, with my growing age and the medication I take its highly possible.
